26.2 Miles for the One Love Foundation

1 in 3 WOMEN.

1 in 4 MEN.

Together we can change these statistics.

I came across the One Love Foundation while working at Alpha Chi Omega and was immediately impressed by their great work. Founded in 2010 to honor the memory of Yeardley Love, One Love works with young people across the country to raise awareness about the warning signs of abuse and activate communities to work to change the statistics around relationship violence.

October just happens to be Domestic Violence Awareness month and smack dab in the middle (on 10/15) – I will be running 26.2 miles through Baltimore. This year’s marathon training cycle (the first for me in 13 years!) has been amazing but something was missing for me – a real WHY for logging all of those miles. This morning, as we pushed up hills on our 5am run, I realized I needed something bigger than me to fight for over the course of all these miles. I needed a better WHY.  SO – I am using my crazy personal goal to bring awareness to a very important cause.

This is not my first fundraising rodeo, and many of you have supported numerous causes through my efforts.  I ask you to do so one more time today.  I hope you will consider making a gift today to this incredible organization.
